A worrying trend when children with twice Covid

For children with twice, there is a double risk to experience long Covida, a often debilitating condition.

The conclusions announced on Tuesday challenge the perception that children’s cases are “gentle”, as well as the idea that re -infections do not have the same risk of covidide as the first time.

The second infections leave the risk of increased pain, fatigue, headache, abnormal palpitations and kidney damage, along with two potential life -threatening physical conditions: myocarditis and blood clots.

The risk of a child’s myocarditis – inflammation of the heart muscle, which can weaken the organ or even fatal – is tripled after a second covidid infection, and they have been more than twice as likely to receive blood clots.

Myocarditis, although rare, is the most common condition associated with long young Covides, said researchers at the University of Pennsylvania, Ann and Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital in Chicago and dozens of institutions across the country who participated in the study.

The results are based on more than 465,000 children and adolescents on electronic health records. The records were taken from 2022. January-2023-October, when Omicron was a dominant option spreading across the country.

The study increases long Covidic studies, which doctors still seek to fully understand. This condition affects nearly 6 million children in the US and more than 17 million adults.

For a long time, Covid can leave healthy and viable persons who are unable to get out of bed or continue their normal activities due to symptoms such as fatigue, cerebral fog, chest and muscle aches. In general, more than 200 long symptoms of Covidides have been detected, and infections can last for months or years and cause increased risk of death.

Previous studies have shown that long Covides are more likely to occur in children after a severe infection. Children who receive a long time are also at increased risk associated with conditions such as anxiety, depression and sleep disorders.

Another step in a national study is to look at health records that cover longer periods, and analyze the risk of new variants for long Covid.

Carbal cases have fallen after the influx of late summer. According to CDC, hospitalization has fallen dramatically since August.

However, when the country falls into the fall, the Covid vaccines for children cause confusion.

Earlier this year, Trump’s administration confirmed Covid shots only for those with higher risk and health officials no longer recommend Covid vaccines for healthy children. Until then, the vaccines were available to six and older, regardless of their health.

The American Academy of Pediatrics advised not to make a decision by Trump’s administration, saying that any obstacle to Covid vaccines will be dangerous to children and their families.

“Respiratory diseases can be particularly risky for infants and young children with small airways and lungs and still developing,” said AAP President dr. Susan Kressly.

Researchers of the new study also say their findings strengthen the case of children’s vaccination.

“The results of this study further confirm one of the strongest reasons why patients, families and doctors are given vaccinations: more vaccines should cause less infections, which should cause less long ropes,” said Dr. Ravi Jhaveri, Children’s Infectious Diseases Manager Ann and Robert H. Lurie Chichan in Chicago.
