A 41 -year -old longevity doctor says his “biological age” is 24 years. He uses 3 supplements daily.

  • The founder of the longevity clinic dr. Mohammed Enayat says he has changed his “biological age” for 17 years.

  • He said Business Insider that supplements are part of his longevity routine.

  • It takes the B complex and folate daily, magnesium and omega-3 fatty acid.

Dr. Mohammed Enaayat in its clinic has access to all types of experimental anti -world procedures, but the main part of its durability routine is quite cheap and affordable: supplements.

Enaat Business Insider said his latest Biological Age tests, performed 18 months ago, said he was 24 or 17 years younger than his chronological age at 41. There is no consensus on how to define or evaluate the biological age, but Enaat has used glycan and fast pace that measures inflammation and epigenetics.

The primary care doctor, who is also the founder of the London Hum2n Longevity Clinic, has been closely monitored by the last seven years using portable technologies, including Oura Ring and Whoop, as well as regular blood, urine and microbiomas tests.

Enayat changes its longevity routine, including its supplements, depending on the results. However, over the last few years, he has taken what he considered his “basic” supplements, B complexes and folon, magnesium and omega-3 fatty acid, cycles.

“Although I believe these supplements supported my biological age, I see them as one component in a much wider system,” added Enaat.

In general, nutritionists recommend people to prioritize food from food and supplement them if they have disadvantages or cannot eat some nutritious food.

B complex and folate

ENAYAT uses a vitamin B complex and folio material.

“I have to defect in the methylation gene, which means that my homocysteine, one of the signs, rises high, which is very anti-inflammatory. So to reduce it, I have to be in a good B complex and folate supplement,” he said.

With a high level of homocysteine, you can increase the risk of blood clots, heart attack and stroke. But you can reduce your level by supplementing and eating food containing vitamins, including fish, poultry, legumes, seeds, eggs, dairy products and leafy greens.

More broadly, research has linked B vitamins to a better mood and prevention of dementia, but more research is needed.

“Even without a methyling gene defect, I would still consider taking the methylated B complex, especially during the periods of high stress, poor sleep or intense workout, as it increases the need for B vitamins,” said Enaat.

Magnesium

Magnesium is found in legumes, dark leaves with greens, nuts, seeds and healthy grains. It plays a key role in many biological processes, including strong bone creation, blood sugar and blood pressure and muscle function.

He said Enaat magnesium is less than the recommended level because it is not enough from his diet. This is quite unusual – about 2% of Americans have little magnesium. For this, it takes on a magnesium form called bisglycinate because it is easier for the body to absorb. “It’s very good to increase my levels,” he said.

When he takes magnesium, he realizes that his muscles hurt less and he falls asleep more easily.

Omega-3 fatty acids

Omega-3 fatty acids found in foods, including fatty fish, walnuts and chia seeds, were associated with better heart health, lower inflammation and lower blood pressure.

Enaayat has naturally low omega-3 fatty acids, so it consumes an supplement daily. There is serious evidence that eating fatty fish prevents cardiovascular disease every week, but it is unclear whether its use in additional form provides the same protection.

However, there are some evidence to suggest that the use of omega-3 supplements may have an impact of contradiction. In the beginning of this year, a study of 777 participants with an average age of 75, which published this year by Nature AGING, found that those who used Omega-3 gram every day had a lower “biological age” than those who did not.
