Last year, the Listeria outbreak associated with meat cut in Delhi has caused more than 60 cases and 10 deaths in 19 states.
Some groups, including pregnant women and seniors, are more vulnerable to Listeria. This can cause mild intestinal disease, causing diarrhea and vomiting. Or this can cause an invasive disease, which means that the bacteria have spread behind the hose. Related symptoms include fever, flu and even seizures. Listeriosis is treated with antibiotics based on the severity of the patient’s condition.
“Even when there are no permanent outbreaks of Listeria, pregnant women, 65 years of age or older or having a weakened immune system, should avoid meat or re -heat it up to 165 degrees or until hot to kill any microbes,” says CDC.
Cucumbers
Cucumbers were canceled this month after 15 states were infected with Salmonella. There were no reports of death, but there were nine hospitalizations and 26 cases.
Most people recover from an exposure without treatment in about a week. Symptoms include diarrhea, fever and stomach cramps.
