Mark Zuckerberg is one of the richest people in the world, and his multi-million dollar real estate portfolio reflects that.
The man behind Facebook is worth an estimated $231 billion, Forbes reported, and some of that fortune includes assets like a sprawling California compound and acres of lush land on a Hawaiian island.
Zuckerberg’s real estate dealings are often shrouded in secrecy, including the use of limited liability companies and addresses linked to investment management firm Iconiq Capital.
His latest real estate venture, as reported by The Wall Street Journal, is a mansion on Indian Creek, an exclusive South Florida island that is home to other tech titans like Jeff Bezos. Zuckerberg’s representatives at Meta declined to comment to Business Insider.
Over the years, Zuckerberg has bought and sold homes all over the country. Apparently he also built some – a Hawaiian apocalypse farm that scratched many, for example.
Here’s what we know about his real estate portfolio.
Zuckerberg owns a residential complex in Palo Alto.

It’s no surprise that a tech titan has more than one property in Silicon Valley. The Meta CEO owns five homes in Palo Alto’s Crescent Park neighborhood.
He gave viewers a rare look inside one of them in 2016; the house is even tricked out with a fitting “personalized artificial intelligence assistant”. CNBC. The house is only a 10 minute drive from the meta headquarters in Menlo Park.

The four-bedroom, four-bathroom home is located near San Francisco’s Dolores Park. He and his wife, Priscilla Chan, spent $10 million to buy the house in 2010.
At the time of the sale in 2022, it was the largest residential real estate deal in the city.
He bought two adjacent properties on the shores of Lake Tahoe around 2019.

Lake Tahoe is a popular vacation destination for wealthy Californians in both summer and winter, and Zuckerberg and his family are no exception.
Tax records for the two properties — known as the Carousel Estate and Brushwood Estate — show the same address as tax records for other properties linked to Zuckerberg, according to documents seen by BI.
Zuckerberg paid $59 million for both properties.

At 5,322 square meters, brushwood estate has six bedrooms, five bathrooms and two half bathrooms, according to SF Gate. Inside are high beamed ceilings and picture windows; outside are lush trees, a private dock and a hot tub. There is also a guest house of 2,293 square meters.
The Meta director owns over 1,200 acres of land in Hawaii.

It’s unclear how many acres of land Zuckerberg currently owns on Kauai, but he began buying up a region of the island back in 2014.
Business Insider tracked down at least 1,200 acres among 17 parcels of land that have the same tax address as other properties mentioned above, but are owned by LLCs, including Kahu’aina Holdings LLC and Pila’a International LLC.
The 1,200 acres include about 750 acres for which he reportedly paid $100 million in 2014. This includes more than 350 acres of land on Pila’a Beach.
His plans for Koolau Ranch appear to be prepared for the worst.

Another part of Zuckerberg’s Hawaiian holdings is the nearly 600 acres of land on Kauai’s North Shore, which cost him an estimated $53 million in 2021.
On one of his plots in Hawaii, Zuckerberg is building a huge complex that is said to include a 5,000-square-foot underground bunker with an escape hatch. It was called Ranch Koolau, and Wired reported that buying the land and creating the complex cost the executive about $270 million.
In March 2025, he bought a 15,000 square foot mansion in Washington, DC.

As Silicon Valley continues to infiltrate Washington, DC, Zuckerberg has taken up residence in the US capital, Politico said. According to Builder magazine, the house that would be his new apartment is located in Massachusetts Avenue Heights, not far from the Naval Observatory and the Washington National Cathedral.
Zuckerberg kept the purchase private, Politico said. The mansion in question was sold for $23 million in cash. It was designed by local firm Robert Gurney Architect and sits on about an acre of property.
Business Insider could not independently confirm that Zuckerberg bought the property.

Mark Zuckerberg is reportedly adding a second East Coast property to his portfolio after buying a home in Miami, according to The Wall Street Journal.
Zuckerberg buys a waterfront mansion on Indian Creek, an exclusive South Florida island home to Jeff Bezos, Carl Icahn and Jared Kushner.
The home being sold was previously owned by a limited liability company related to Peter Cancro, founder of Jersey Mike’s Subs. The property — which was just a house lot — last traded for $37 million in 2021, Miami-Dade property records show.
It’s unclear how much the deal was worth off the market, but an empty lot next to Bezos sold for $105 million in 2025.
