The internet is having a field day pulling this former MAGA who realized they were on the wrong side of history a little too late

There are plenty of stories online about Trump supporters finally seeing the light. It often takes a personal tragedy for them to abandon long-held views, such as ICE detaining a dying family member or revoking their own government benefits.

But sometimes the turning point isn’t a life-changing event. For a longtime Trump supporter, there was only one comment Trump made about the Epstein files. Originally posted on Facebook, his MAGA breakup announcement made its way to the r/LeopardsAteMyFace subreddit, where it sparked a flurry of comments.

Here’s what the full post says: “I was one of Trump’s biggest supporters. I defended him through it all. The media attacks, the investigations, the indictments, the non-stop chaos. I stuck with him because I thought he was different. I thought he would drain the swamp. I thought he would expose corruption. I thought he would bring down children on the campaign trail. About exposing elite criminals, about protecting children.

(Continued) “So when I saw him talking about the Epstein files a few days ago, with my own eyes, and I was like, ‘It’s time to move on. We’ve got better things to worry about,’ that was when everything changed.” Shall we move on? Do they move on from children who are trafficked? Do they move on from powerful people who abuse minors? Do they move on from elites who cannot be protected?

(Continued) “The more I look at it, the more it feels like the same pattern. Protect the powerful. Hide the truth, shift the focus. If you campaigned to expose corruption and then dismissed the biggest corruption scandal involving minors in modern history, what conclusion should I draw? Whether you’re involved. I’m not a Democrat, I’m not a liberal, I aligned myself more closely with the Republicans because their values aligned they matched mine better.

(Continued) “It’s not Republican vs. Democrat. It’s not left vs. right. It’s not red vs. blue. It’s us against it. They’re dividing us with race baiting, culture wars, endless cycles of outrage, while protecting their own, growing their wealth, and consolidating their control. Meanwhile, ordinary people haven’t fought each other or played for anything anymore. He disappointed his critics. He alienated those who they believed in him the most.”

(Continued) “I know I’m not the only one who saw that moment and felt the change. So no, I’m not a Republican. I’m not a Democrat. I’m officially nothing. I’ll never vote again. If that’s the way the system works, I’m not in it. Your attorney general said if all the files were to collapse. these sick devils in it.

And to really drive the “RIP MAGA” message home, the poster includes this photo of their MAGA hat being trashed.

On Reddit, many people struggled to understand why this one particular comment was the breaking point for him…given that Trump has made many, many comments like this in the past.

“I’d be more understanding if he hadn’t spent 10 years ignoring everyone trying desperately to explain it to them,” one person said.

Another wrote: “‘Media attacks, investigations, indictments, non-stop mayhem’ were all the things done to try to stop him and try to warn you at every opportunity. But I’m glad a decade later you’ve come to your senses.”

Others questioned why this man’s outrage at Epstein’s victims did not extend to other vulnerable communities that Trump has affected, such as women, immigrants, people of color and people with disabilities.

One person wrote: “Mmm, well, they love that our tax dollars go to ICE, basically a modern day Gestapo, to abuse and kill immigrants and even American citizens. The government killed two innocent American citizens in broad daylight. They’re fine with women dying because of the abortion ban.”

(Continued) “They support racism embedded in ‘anti-DEI’ initiatives, which is actually the erasure and oppression of minorities. But at least he’s not “woke”, right? They encourage aggressive tariffs while our economy, education and international relations burn. They are happy to destroy health, even their own. They ignore the billions that Trump and his circle have made through blatant corruption.”

(Continued) “So after walking through the ashes of a democracy they helped burn, suddenly this is the line? This, the one thing we all warned them about, is where they decide to draw it? It mattered in 2024. It’s too late for their regrets as they roll in the ashes with us.”

One commenter summed it up even more succinctly, saying, “That’s a lot of words when he could have just said ‘I’m gullible’ or ‘I lack critical thinking skills.’

“Wonder if he’s had a headache since experiencing his first critical thought in 10 years,” wrote another.

“If only this shit had spent five minutes checking Trump’s rape and fraud history. But he’d probably say it was a Democrat hoax,” added another.

And finally, one person couldn’t help but point out the man’s arm-length tattoo, which appears to read “Michelle.” They joked: “Judging by his tattoo, he’s Mr. Big Life Choices.”

We can only hope he doesn’t change his mind about Michelle like he did about Trump…
