According to new studies, the hidden source of clean energy could feed the planet for more than a hundred thousand years.
Hydrogen sources could hide during the Earth’s crust – enough to manage the land with current energy needs for the next 170,000 years, according to a document published by Nature Reviews Earth & Environment Wednesday.

According to the World Economic Forum, this idea of the use of hydrogen as renewable energy as a renewable energy is not new, but so far only 0.1% of hydrogen energy is considered “green” or produced by a climate neutral. Today, hydrogen is produced using thermal steam and hydrocarbon processes with a by -product of 2.4% of global carbon dioxide (CO2), researchers reported in a press release from Oxford University.
According to the document, it is likely that “hydrogen systems” buried under the continents are buried under the continents around the world. Researchers said hydrogen gas had been built in the Earth’s crust in the last billions of years.

Researchers created a “research recipe” to evaluate where the hydrogen reservoirs could be, as well as where it would be the most economical meaning to pull them out.
“We have successfully developed a helium exploration strategy and a similar approach to the” first principles “can be followed by hydrogen,” said John Gluyas, Geonergy, Carbon Facture & Storage Chairman of Durham University in England and research co-author.

The “geological ingredients” needed for potential extraction areas are numerous gas, tank rock and geological formation that prevents hydrogen from escaping to the atmosphere, said researchers.
“We, for example, know that underground germs were easy to eat with hydrogen,” Barbara Sherwood Lollar said in a report in Canada in Canada. “When avoiding the environment that causes them to contact hydrogen, it is important to preserve the hydrogen in the economic accumulation.”
The research recipe for finding the accumulated hydrogen is “equated with concentrating boiling,” says Chris Ballentine, Chairman of the Geochemistry University of Oxford University and as the main author of paper.
“Get any of the ingredients, quantities, time or temperature incorrectly and you will be disappointed,” Ballentin said.

Researchers believe that “one successful research recipe” that can be repeated will unlock commercially competitive, sustainable hydrogen source, which could significantly contribute to the energy transition, said Balletinetine.
On the contrary, the study shows that other sources of hydrogen gas, such as the Earth’s mantle, are not promising hydrogen sources, despite many speculations, researchers said.
“We have the right experience to combine these ingredients and find that recipe,” he said.

Researchers said reliable hydrogen supply is vital to the function of the modern world. Fertilizers used for agriculture are produced by hydrogen and gas also serves as a “main energy component” to carbon neutral future, the researchers said.
Researchers said the global demand for hydrogen was 97 million tonnes, but it is expected that by 2050. Demand will increase to 540 tons.
Researchers said production, followed by CO2 waste or from renewable energy sources such as wind or solar energy, may also be future hydrogen sources.
