10 fun family movies to watch together

From Movieguide® Associate

There is nothing better than getting the whole family together to watch a movie. This curated list contains the perfect movies for everyone to enjoy. From classics like THE PRINCESS BRIDE to animated favorites like THE FORUMS, these movies will please the harshest critic. Whether you want to sing along to a musical or tickle your funny bone, don’t miss these family movies to watch together.

THE PRINCESS BRIDE (1987)

In a story told by a grandfather (Peter Falk) to his grandson (Fred Savage), a young girl Buttercup (Robin Wright) falls in love with a farm boy Westley (Carrie Elwes) and they growl in their undying love for each other; but when Wesley disappears for several years, the princess bride is forced to marry another. From Reiner’s masterful direction and Goldman’s insightful screenplay to the cast’s pitch-perfect, inspired acting, the excellent sets and cinematography, and the howlingly cheerful tone throughout, it’s all delivered with the practiced cinematic hand of a man who knows just what to say and portray and how best to do it. The film remains very strong, engaging and watchable for teenagers and adults; Movieguide® recommends caution for younger children due to some action violence, two instances of foul language and some suggestive elements.
