The two characters will appear again in the Young Sheldon series finale – the first time the actors have appeared together in the hugely successful prequel.

Parsons is an executive producer on Young Sheldon and has narrated all seven seasons of the show.

Bialik reprized her character and co-narrated two episodes of Young Sheldon.

But they have never been on the show together.

Details about the season finale’s plot — and how Parsons and Bialik will fit into it — are being kept under wraps until the show airs in the US on May 16.

Young Sheldon stars Ian Armitage as the future theoretical physicist, but the series is told from the perspective of an older Sheldon than the one viewers saw on The Big Bang Theory.

Through Sheldon’s narration, fans learned that he and Amy had several children together.

But if fans are feeling sad that Young Sheldon is coming to an end, there is light at the end of the tunnel because this isn’t exactly the end of the Big Bang Theory universe.

Young Sheldon will be followed by a second offshoot of The Big Bang that will focus on Sheldon’s older brother Georgie, played by Montana Jordan, and his bride-to-be Mandy (Emily Osment).

This show is slated to air later this year or early 2025, with an exact release date yet to be confirmed by CBS.

In addition to being the most-watched prime-time comedy on American television, Young Sheldon also has a hugely popular second life on the streaming platform Netflix.

The news that Parsons and Bialik will be reuniting on Young Sheldon sent fans of both shows into celebration as they took to social media to rave about the prospect.

“No way I’m so excited!” one fan wrote when Young Sheldon’s official Instagram shared the announcement.

“We need a spinoff with all their babies,” wrote another.

“Who agrees they should just bring back The Big Bang Theory with all their babies?” agreed another.

Another said she would “ugly cry” while watching, a sentiment echoed by many others.

“Well then it’s confirmed – I’m going to cry my eyes out,” said one.

“DON’T STOP I’M CRYING,” added another.

Between The Big Bang Theory, which aired from 2007 to 2019, and Young Sheldon, Sheldon Cooper’s beloved character was on television for a remarkable 17 years.

“Being able to tell Sheldon Cooper’s origin and expand the story to include the entire Cooper family was a wonderful experience,” executive producers Steve Holland, Stephen Molaro and Chuck Lorre said in a statement in November announcing that Young Sheldon would end in 2024

“We’re grateful to our fans for embracing this Cooper chapter over the past six seasons, and on behalf of the entire Young Sheldon family, we’re thrilled to share this final season with you.”
