Echoes of past Super Bowls and the TikTok music battle: This week in Sports & Entertainment | Foster Garvey PC

Welcome back to the Spotlight! Proudly free of artificial intelligence and brain chips from 2021SM. Would ChatGPT or a Neuralink brain-computer interface facilitate my weekly task here? Perhaps. But ChatGPT wouldn’t be an authentic self, and a mind-reading Neuralink chip might be *too* an authentic self. That being said, I don’t have a high bar of originality to prove otherwise with history repeating itself with the Super Bowl game from four years ago (Kansas City Chiefs vs. San Francisco 49ers) coinciding with this one on February 11th. high on originality, TikTok creators woke up Thursday morning to learn they may have to channel their inner Charlie Chaplin as Universal Music Group pulled its song library from TikTok over an unfair structure dispute of artist royalties and distribution of artificial intelligence on the platform. It will be interesting to see if other labels follow suit to increase the pressure on the music-driven platform – now It is something that consumers could tap into with their limitless attention span. (Editor’s note: It was at this point—in between Charlie Chaplin references and sarcastic remarks about the younger generation—that Josh realized he was becoming an old curmudgeon). Now, let’s get the rest out of the way…

  • An upcoming documentary will examine the recording of the 1985 philanthropic song “We Are The World,” designed to encourage global cooperation in support of Africa. I think the world could use more songs…
  • Slim Jim is dropping its decade-long sponsorship of World Wrestling Entertainment after disgraced former chairman Vince McMahon was hit with sex-trafficking allegations. A shocking move, considering bad taste and hard-to-digest stuff are at the heart of Slim Jim’s business model.
