Ghost Flu with BOO to Chicago Flu Events

Free family-friendly pumpkin flu pop-up events coming to your community

CHICAGO, October 25, 2023 — Aetna Better Health® of Illinois, a CVS Health® (NYSE: CVS) company, is hosting four Boo to the Flu pumpkin patch pop-up events in Chicago.

To ensure Chicagoans have access to flu shots regardless of their ability to pay, Aetna Better Health of Illinois hosts Boo to the Flu events where residents can get a flu shot for free.

“Our goal is to bring health services to our members in their communities,” said Rushil Desai, CEO, Aetna Better Health of Illinois. “Lack of affordability often prevents people from getting their flu shot. Our Boo to the Flu events combine a vaccination event with a family fun pumpkin patch for community members to enjoy holiday fun and get an important flu shot right in their neighborhood.”

everyone Boo at the Flu event will feature tons of fun activities for the whole family, including a pumpkin patch, a petting zoo, a haunted Aetna® heart experience and an opportunity to learn about local resources from community organizations. The event on Thursday, October 19, at Legends South, will feature a special appearance by the Chicago Chapter of the NFL Players Association (NFLPA).

“The NFLPA is always looking for ways to give back to the community,” said Justin Staples, NFLPA Chicago Chapter President. “We are excited to kick off the holiday season by partnering with Aetna Better Health of Illinois to bring a safe family event to town while promoting health and wellness.”

Boo to the Flu events promote and coordinate access to annual flu shots to prevent and reduce the risk of flu transmission while providing immersive pumpkin experiences in several neighborhoods across the city.
