When it comes to glamourizing A-listers, Isabelle Alyssa is a defining force.
The famous spray tan artist is Hollywood’s best-kept beauty secret, with a client list ranging from the Kardashian-Jenner family to Selena Gomez and Miley Cyrus — the latter of whom loves her Dolce Glow product line so much she even became an investor.
And while stars rarely talk about their spray tans before the red carpet, I got a peek behind the tanning tent curtain last month when Alyssa gave me the superstar treatment using signature sprays similar to her at-home Dolce Glow Luce Self-Tanning Mist ( $53).
“When you look at someone on the red carpet… 99% of the time I’d say it’s because they’ve got a good tan,” Alyssa told me, noting that in addition to bronzing, non-sunny glow functions as a “filter on your skin” to ” help to tone, reduce the appearance of cellulite [and] blurring imperfections.”
Although I’d never tried tanning products before, Alyssa’s assurances made me dip my toe (and the rest of my body) into the world of faux glow with one of the pop-up tents she uses when working on A-listers in their homes.
Our review
The whole process only took about 15 minutes from start to finish, and Alysa’s signature formula was so comfortable and hydrating that it felt like applying luxurious skincare all over (plus, it didn’t stain my white sheets or clothes).

“It’s not just for celebrities; I want you to feel like a celebrity at home,” she explained. “Our products dry super fast, they don’t smell… you can literally get a full body tan in two minutes.”
To get that same glow at home, the expert recommends products like Dolce Glow Luce Clear Self-Tanning Mist ($53)—which is “fuss-free and mess-free” and has a QR code on the back—if you want, watch a how-to video before you start. you spray.
For “the softest glow you’ll ever get,” there’s also Acqua Hydrating Face Mist ($36), which can be used as a setting spray or as the final step of your nighttime routine to “wake up sun-kissed.”
Professionals
- The formulas feel super hydrating
- Developed in a fine sheen
- The products smell great and don’t stain sheets
cons
- I loved the subtle contour Isabelle created on my cheekbones, but I’d be more hesitant to try these tricks on my own

As for my final verdict? Seeing my finished glow made me wonder why I’d never tried self-tanner before—and why I don’t own daring dresses like Cyrus’ cut-out fashion to show it off.
After all, while I won’t be dating billionaires or walking red carpets anytime soon, the powers of a good spray tan go beyond skin deep—no matter what the day throws at you.
“All the stars you see want to look and feel [their] the best, and spray tans just give you both inner and outer confidence,” Alyssa told me.
And considering she’s been a part of just about every celebrity event that’s made headlines—from getting Kim Kardashian and Lauren Sanchez ready for Sunday’s Vanity Fair Oscars afterparty to getting Sofia Richie bronzed for her wedding—it’s only a matter of it’s time to see more stars shine using the Alysa product line.
After all, even when the sun isn’t out, the (Hollywood) stars are still shining — and thanks to Alice, us unknowns can be, too.
