In preparation for the 2024 Paris Olympic and Paralympic Games, the Air Liquide hydrogen station located on Place de l’Alma has a new look

Showcase of Air Liquide’s network of stations located in Ile-de-France (Paris area). (Paris: AI) the hydrogen station, located in the heart of the capital, is an integral part of the ambition to organize a more sustainable games. Just over 100 days before the start of the Olympic and Paralympic Games in Paris in 2024, this network of stations will enable 500 cars to be charged with hydrogen, helping to accelerate the use of hydrogen for mobility.

Official Hydrogen Supporter of Paris 2024, Air Liquide designed and installed this station at Place de l’Alma (Paris). The group will supply hydrogen from renewable sources to the Paris 2024 official fleet, which notably includes 500 Toyota Mirai hydrogen cars.

For vehicles with intensive use, hydrogen presents significant advantages, allowing fast recharging times as well as long autonomy. Refueling with hydrogen is possible in about 5 minutes for a range of up to 650 kilometers.

Hydrogen is a key solution for the decarbonisation of various sectors such as industry and mobility. In the field of transport, which represents a quarter1 of CO2 emissions worldwide, Air Liquide has multiplied by ten the volume of hydrogen delivered to global mobility in two years. The group supplies hydrogen to approximately 15,000 cars, 500 buses and 1,000 trucks worldwide.

The Place de l’Alma hydrogen station received funding from the Fuel Cells and Hydrogen 2 Joint Undertaking (now the Clean Hydrogen Partnership) as part of the H2ME2 program under Grant Agreement No. 700350. This public-private partnership is supported by the EU’s Horizon 2020 program for research and innovation, Hydrogen Europe and Hydrogen Europe Research.
