Kindergarteners share how to cook a turkey – Park Rapids Enterprise

Century School kindergarten teacher Rebecca Penning shares these turkey recipes from her students during Thanksgiving week. Penning adds, “Find joy and don’t forget to check your meat thermometer!”

Elsie Ackerman: You should go to your hamburger place – Main Street Meets – and look at the labels on the different chickens. Take the one that’s five pounds and cook it at home. Heat in the oven for 40 minutes and then make 5 degrees. Add salt and pepper.

Raina Adelman: Go to Walmart and go to the meat section and get a turkey. Go home and put it in the oven for maybe 101 degrees. Place it for 40 minutes. Maybe add some salt and pepper.

Jackson Ditchler: First, go to the store and pick up two pounds of turkey. Slice the meat and place in a pan and cover. Turn on the oven for 100 minutes and once it’s done, add a pinch of salt and some pepper. Then eat it!

William Eshelman: Go to the turkey store and get a turkey from the fridge and freezer section. Then you go home and unpack it from the packaging. Place it in the tub for a minute. Then put in the oven at 45 degrees for 45 minutes. Add sugar to make it taste a little better.

Ava Greb: Go to Walmart. Get a big turkey. Heat it in the oven. Leave it for 3 hours. Put some barbecue and cut it.

Elisa Gutierrez Quixa: Go to the turkey store and buy a 50 lb turkey. Go home and then make some carrots and also some brown and black beans. Put it in the microwave for 50 minutes and add salt. It’s ready to eat, but you also need to make some juice and dessert like cupcakes, pie and muffins.

Nova Humphrey: You can go turkey hunting or you can go to Main Street Meats. You can put the turkey in the freezer and pour a drop of hot water over it and put it in the oven. Put some potatoes on the side and put some love on it. Bake it for 55 minutes at 65 degrees.

Henry Little: First you hunt a turkey – you probably go to the woods and if you see a stand, you sit in it. Shoot the turkey with your bow and arrow. If you get one, bring it home and cut it up. Grill it with pepper. 24 hours on the grill at 23 degrees hot.

Samuel Long: Go to the meat store at Walmart and buy a turkey. Cook it on the stove at about 50 degrees. Add salt, pepper and garlic. Keep it for 3 days.

Roman Luther: Buy a turkey at the grocery store where my mom and dad go. Then bake it in the oven for 20 hours. Make sure it’s 2 degrees. Slice it and season it with salt and pepper.

Amelia Mack: Get a turkey at the grocery store – get it at Walmart. And when you get it home and put it in the freezer and let it cool. Then put it in the oven and leave for 15 minutes. The oven should be 14 degrees. Then you take it out of the oven and put it on the table. And then let it cool and slice it and then you can eat it!

Olivia Meyer: So you can put it in the oven for 20 minutes.

Madison Martin: You get a turkey from Main Street Meats and then put it in the crockpot. You leave it there for 50 minutes. Then you take it out and put some black pepper and salt. Then eat with ketchup.

Emma Olsen: Buy a turkey at Walmart. You know which one to buy because of the color – get the white one. I think we make more than one turkey because a lot of people come from my father’s side. That means they are my relatives. For the first turkey, put a little salt. Second, put in the chicken that is orange. For the cooking temperature – it will probably be a grill for us – it could be about 30 or 40 minutes. Hot? Probably 47 degrees. The other turkey is probably the same.

Adalina Ramierz: Buy your turkey at Walmart. Put in the oven in a heated tray at 48 degrees. Use Red Robin Seasoning.

Logan Tompkins: Buy a turkey at the store. You should probably cook it in the oven. You need to heat it up to 100 degrees. Keep it inside for 154 minutes. Use salt and pepper.
