Authorities closed parts of Nebraska Parkway and 70th Street after a white sedan crashed into a utility pole at the intersection of the two thoroughfares Monday afternoon.
Emergency personnel closed the eastbound lanes of Nebraska Parkway and shut down 70th Street at the intersection as they responded to the crash, which was reported around 12:45 p.m.
The white car crashed into a utility pole on the southeast corner of the intersection. The force of the crash appeared to have trapped the driver of the car inside before first responders worked for nearly 40 minutes to free the driver, whose condition was not immediately known Monday afternoon.
Lincoln Fire and Rescue crews extricated the driver before taking him from the scene by ambulance.
At least one other car appeared to be involved in the crash, although it was unclear what led to the collision Monday afternoon.
