Olivia Rodrigo joins No Doubt for the band’s Coachella reunion

There was no doubt that this would be an unforgettable performance!

On Saturday, April 13, No Doubt took the stage for the first time since 2015’s Coachella in Indio, California, where they were joined by Olivia Rodrigo.

During a set list consisting of the band’s signature songs and a few deeper tracks, vocalist Gwen Stefani and her bandmates belted out hits “It’s My Life,” “Just a Girl” and “Bathwater,” the latter featuring some added vocals by Rodrigo, 21.

At the start of her performance of the band’s 2000 single, Stefani, 54, screamed the name ‘Olivia Rodrigo’ to the excited crowd as the Grammy winner took to the stage wearing a white tank top that read ‘I [heart] ND.”

The two took turns with different lines of the song, and at the end of their back-and-forth, Stefani and Rodrigo embraced on stage before running off together.

After leaving the stage, Rodrigo could be seen in the Coachella crowd in a black leather jacket, standing next to pal Conan Gray as she jumped up and down and excitedly cheered for Stefani and the No Doubt crew.

The set also included a rousing rendition of “Don’t Speak” and ended A tragic kingdom extraordinary “Spiderwebs”, which concluded with the entire band – including longtime touring musicians Gabrial McNair and Stephen Bradley – taking an emotional bow and group photo in front of the huge festival crowd.

During the performance of Jimmy Kimmel Live! in February, Stefani revealed that she may have had to relearn the words to her band’s songs before they performed.

“I don’t remember them, no, not at all. I do not! I think I’ll have to learn probably around eight or nine [songs]. One of the first songs I wrote was called “Different People”; we do,” Stephanie said.

No Doubt – which features Stefani on vocals, Tom Dumont on guitar, Tony Kanal on bass and Adrian Young on drums – last reunited in 2012 for the album Pushing and shoving, their first in 11 years. They last played live together in 2015.

“It’s crazy,” Stephanie said of their reunion. “It’s going to be amazing. I am so excited. And I think what’s going to be fun is, I know what’s going to happen, I’m going to get on stage and I’m going to look around and I’m just going to start freaking out because it’s just going to be like riding a bike. We’ll be like, “What are we doing? We’re in the future right now, we’re at Coachella. It’s going to be weird.”

Stefani opened up to PEOPLE in January about her upcoming Coachella performance and revealed that agreeing to perform at the festival was an easy yes.

“It just happened so fast and it’s my favorite thing to happen. We haven’t really figured out the next steps of how we’re going to do this, but we’re all so excited,” she said. “And I think I’m just watching the internet blow up [with] how excited are the fans? It inspires us.”

She continued: “It’s just going to be great. It’s just going to be: get up there and do what we always do, which is play our music and try to connect and be so grateful to have this amazing career that we never expected to have.”

Meanwhile, earlier this month the “Hollaback Girl” singer reflected on her days in the band in an interview with NYLON Print and said she felt stuck between being a good mother and a bandmate.

“I was going to leave my family. And if I didn’t come home with a song, I’d be like, “Oh my God, I’m such a loser—I didn’t have dinner with my family, and I haven’t written a song. I wasted a whole day of my life trying to be in No Doubt again.”

She also said that every choice feels like a sacrifice.

“I look at it now and think, ‘God, what was I doing trying to please everybody?’ Because I really should have been with my family, but we did and there are some good songs,” she told the outlet, breaking up. “Don’t remind me. I don’t want to talk about it.”
