Rihanna, in Amina Mouadi shoes, leads the best dressed celebrities in Paris

Rihanna is back. After seemingly a lifetime away from fashion, the Diamonds the singer arrived at the Christian Dior Haute Couture show in Paris this week looking sensational in a Dior ensemble accessorized with heels by Jordanian-Romanian shoe designer Amina Mouadi.

Opting for a puffy version of the famous Dior Bar jacket created by Christian Dior himself in 1947 – nipped in at the waist and now with an exaggerated collar – Rihanna added her trademark flair by teaming it with a black baseball cap. Pairing it with a puffy pencil skirt, killer heels, long gloves and a Lady Dior bag, she managed to present a modern take on the femme fatale.

There aren’t many who could get away with wearing a hat to the side at a haute couture show, but Rihanna is by no means ordinary. A longtime fan of Dior, she arrived as a breath of fresh air, sporting her own idiosyncratic seal of approval, plus some serious rocks around her neck.

Rihanna’s choice of shoes also underscores the star appeal of Mouadi, who often draws inspiration from her Arabic roots for her namesake brand.

Another celebrity who came out in support of Arab designers was Jennifer Lopez, who attended the Elie Saab show on Wednesday. The singer-actress wore a sea foam green draped chiffon gown with a plunging neckline and cinched in at the waist with an embellished belt. The dress was topped with a floor-length floral cape made from colorful feathers, while her recently cropped long bob was styled in soft curls.

For the Valentino show that night, Lopez adopted a different style, arriving in a demure black dress with a high collar and long sleeves. The dress was completely simple except for the bow detailing running down the back of each arm. Understated yet elegant, the look was finished with a choker necklace and her hair pulled back under a simple headband – like Catherine Deneuve circa 1965.

The haute couture shows welcomed a number of other A-list celebrities.

Also at the Valentino show was actress Florence Pugh, who arrived in a sleek black one-shoulder dress, alongside Kylie Jenner, who wore a strapless, straight-cut dress – also in black – teamed with a feather stole. British model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, meanwhile, wore a sleek black thigh-skimming skirt with a matching top topped with an oversized blazer.

Sabrina Doure Elba, model and wife of actor Idris Elba, was at the Elie Saab show wearing a fitted black pantsuit – complete with a neck scarf and black gloves. She completed the look with simple black shoes.

Actress Anya Taylor-Joy attended the Dior fashion show wearing a fiery red dress that complimented her pale skin and even paler hair. Taylor-Joy knows that a mixed, feminine outfit works for her, but she mixed it up by adding heavy black boots for a fresh look.

Also at Dior was actress Glenn Close, who, even at 76, arrived impeccably dressed in a Bar suit. In cream, with a classic waistline and wide leg trousers, her ensemble can teach us a few things about elegance.

At Schiaparelli, Zendaya arrived wearing the label as a fitted taffeta skirt and train with a sculptural velvet top. As someone who can pull off almost any look—thanks to her stylist Lou Roach’s eye—Zendaya has a bold sense of style. For this entrance, she donned a rough-cut, fringed wig—and ditched it.

At Chanel on Tuesday, actress and Chanel ambassador Lucy Boynton looked stylish in a suit with a light tweed mini dress, while Charlotte Casiraghi, of Monaco’s royal family, proved she is the epitome of chic by mixing her houndstooth tweed jacket with a pair of jeans.

At Giorgio Armani Prive, Selina Lox, model and wife of former Brazilian footballer Ronaldo Nazario, looked casual in a pale blue lace coat worn over zip-up trousers. While at the same event, Gwyneth Paltrow arrived in head-to-toe black. Dressed in a button-front satin top with loose mid-length sleeves, she exuded an air of refined simplicity.
