If there is one spring trend that has us all fighting (in the best way possible), it’s the denim bag. Case in point? I highlighted the awesome Coach denim bag in my last post over the weekend, but by the time I went to buy it myself (not even 24 hours after posting)… the damn bag was completely sold out. Luckily, I found it in stock at Bloomingdales, but my desperate search for a “coach jean bag” brought me this round.
Turns out there is tone of really good denim bags for spring, at all price points, all styles (duffel, crossbody, tote, bucket, etc.)
I generally like denim bags with a bit of structure or intentional shape. The fabric (and overall vibe) is so casual that I think this structure and/or shape can keep denim bags looking chic rather than casual. Some of my finds are designer (read: expensive), but others are shockingly affordable, and a few are handmade. My personal top picks are in the collage below.

At Saks Fifth Avenue
This bag is cool as hell: it’s patched, but in a really clean and classy way, and the structure definitely makes up for the slouchy fabric. I’m featuring the small size here (I prefer a smaller bag), but this exact bag also comes in a medium size and – I’m not kidding – a large as well. They are all great.

The same line, but in a small form. I tend to love small bags – the vibe is a bit sportier and I can usually cram a shocking amount of stuff into small bags. There’s something about that round shape.

This cute little Etsy find has a really chic, intentional shape and is only $65. It also comes in light denim, but I really like the dark one.

Ahhhh THIS is one of the bags that started my denim obsession. Gang, it’s cool as hell. I don’t know what’s up with Coach right now, but their denim bags are good. If you want a better idea of sizing, Farfetch shows this bag on a model (it’s basically a size medium).

These knot bags are one of my favorite bag styles – ever. Not only do they always look chic (thanks to their great shape), but they hold a lot of stuff and – if you’re traveling – fit your wrist really snugly, yet pack well.

Mansur Gavriel’s delicious little bags were on my wish list years. The shape is so cool and timeless. And while I’d never turn down one of these bags from the brand’s buttery soft leather…the denim looks both beautiful and practical.
At Saks Fifth Avenue
Linz has – and loves! – this bag. I love a good sling bag (sling bags never get enough credit, I swear), and she wears this one really, really well. It looks especially good with light denim (although most of these denim bags can work with different shades of denim – there’s no hard and fast rule).

This is not a denim bag, just a denim colored one. But I had to include – this is one of the my favorite summer bags of all time. I already own two: ivory and black and find them very useful. They pack well, fill well and work as both makeshift beach bags and going out bags. They are great. Highly recommended.

Such a cute beach bag idea! It’s common, so you can pick any coastal city (or anything, really), and I’m tempted to get one with NORTH COAST (IYKYK).

I actually have a similar Chloe bag and carry it all the time (you can see it as part of the first outfit in our video on how to style baggy jeans). The shape is definitely more casual, but this is the bag I’ve been using to make my all-black workout gear look like a real outfit when I’m running errands after class. However, this GANNI bag has a sleek interior drawstring that would be especially useful.

For $29, this bag looks great (and reviewers agree). In fact, reviewer photos look even better than official product photos. It has enough structure to look deliberate and elegant, but not boring.
