Tommy Ibrahim has been named president and CEO of Sanford Health Plan

SIOUX FALLS, SD — Sanford Health has appointed Tommy Ibrahim, MD, MBA, as the new president and CEO of Sanford Health Plan.

Most recently, Ibrahim served as president and CEO of Bassett Healthcare Network in Cooperstown, New York.

While at Bassett, he led transformational change to create an integrated care delivery system that delivers exceptional health care services to rural and underserved communities.

Ibrahim received his MD from St. Christopher’s College of Medicine and completed his residency in internal medicine at the Greater Baltimore Medical Center, an academic affiliate of Johns Hopkins. He holds an MBA from Columbia University and is a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives and a fellow in hospital medicine.

Ibrahim succeeds John Snyder, who retired this year. Snyder will remain in an advisory role while Ibrahim transitions to his new position.
