Tina Murphy started the studio in 2018 as a way to make fitness more accessible to people of all abilities.
“I have fibromyalgia and I was working out at another studio and I found I could never finish the workouts because of my joint pain,” Murphy said. “So I was looking for something that would give me the workout I wanted with the limitations I had.”
Classes consist of participants harnessed to a bungee cord attached to the ceiling. The added support of the cable makes exercises like push-ups and squats a little easier on the body, making the classes doable for almost anyone. They also offer classes for people with disabilities.
“My oldest client is 88 and my youngest client is 14 months,” Murphy said. “So anyone can do it.”
Fly to Fit is located at 1814 Central Ave. in Colonie. For more information or to sign up for a class, go to flytofitbungee.com.
