Would you try the Inside-Out beauty trend?

What does your daily skincare routine look like?

You may be cleansing, toning and moisturizing with the best of them, but are you filling your gut, your blood and therefore your deeper layers of skin with the nutrient-rich cocktail they need to stay hydrated, fight with environmental irritants, produce collagen and stay radiant?

Because it’s key to the latest inside-out beauty trend — a new regime of topical products that work in collaboration with a supplement — usually a capsule, liquid, or powder.

Use the two together, the theory goes, and you’ll glow while experiencing other benefits—higher energy, more efficient digestion, a better night’s sleep, and balanced hormone levels.

So should you embrace the trend? Read on to find out…

This 30-day range consists of four key products: Day cream with pre and postbiotics to strengthen the skin microbiome; a daily probiotic pill for gut, skin and mental health with a complex of B vitamins and vitamins K, D and zinc to boost energy; a night cream that targets fine lines and bags under the eyes; and a magnesium night pill to calm the mind for sleep, plus antioxidant grape seed extract to support skin renewal and repair.

Verdict: It’s hard to beat this elegant collection. The four products are beautifully designed in heavy yellow bottles and jars that you’ll want to display. The creams and pills themselves are also yellow, with the night creams being slightly darker to avoid confusion.

The light day cream absorbs without greasiness. After a week of use, the products have left my skin more hydrated and calmer, while being nourished inside and out feels like a positive way to start and end each day.

Beauty and vitality Radiant skin care

The affordable route to skin care inside and out, this kit includes a facial moisturizer that helps counteract collagen loss and hydration with vitamins A, C, and E plus coconut oil and grapefruit—and a matching multi-nutrient capsule (you take two a day with food).

The supplement contains vitamin C for collagen function, vitamin D for the immune system, vitamin E for protection from environmental pollutants, and red clover for menopausal health support.

Verdict: I tried the Radiant Skincare Pre & Probiotic Nourishment Moisturizer which is thicker than I usually use and found it quite indulgent.

Once absorbed, it feels smooth, non-sticky and has a delicate spa scent. I opened the faintly caramel-scented capsules and sprinkled the contents over my breakfast cereal.

After just one week on my skin, it looked plump and better cared for. Currently retailing at £30 for both products (down from £50), it’s much cheaper than its competitors.

This luxurious collection allows you to build your own regimen from a wide range of products.

A centerpiece of the collection is the Pre + Probiotic capsule (you take two each morning before breakfast), which delivers 15 billion spores per dose to boost the good bacteria in your stomach and promote improved skin, digestion, immunity, mood and sleep.

Take alone or add other products, from topical cleansers, moisturizers and serums to more targeted supplements.

Verdict: A beautifully designed range with a wide selection that allows you to tailor your products and supplements to your specific needs.

You can use the Skin Filter Capsule, described as “swallow retinol”, to smooth fine lines and repair sun damage, with the Skin Filter Serum, packed with plant-based extracts that replicate the effects of retinol without causing redness. Other capsules target bloating, hair growth, hydration, stress and sleep.

LIQUID GOLD

Serums are tailored for hydration, overnight renewal or instant radiance; hydrogel sheet masks promote ‘glow, shine and smoothness’, working with a daily supplement of 50ml liquid collagen or tablet.

The peach and lychee flavored liquid version I’m trying is geared towards the over 40s. Its 23 active ingredients promote hair growth and collagen formation, reduce fatigue and regulate hormonal activity.

Verdict: The nutrient-dense drink is nice, but the staple for me is the sheet mask, enriched with antioxidants, hyaluronic acid and glycerin “for dehydrated or tired skin.”
