Authentically Yours Pasadena Spotlights Small and Independent Businesses for the Holiday Shopping Season – Pasadena Now

The City of Pasadena and Visit Pasadena have announced this year’s Authentically Yours Pasadena holiday season campaign to celebrate small and independent local businesses. The campaign kicks off on Small Business Saturday, Nov. 25, with welcome stations at 25 small businesses across the city to inspire visitors and community members to shop small and eat local. Welcome stations will be stocked with canvas shopping bags given away on a first-come, first-served basis. The goal of Authentically Yours Pasadena is to encourage residents and visitors to promote economic growth, job creation and community cohesion while maintaining unique and diverse local markets by choosing to support local businesses.

“The Authentically Yours Pasadena campaign enriches the people, places and great finds that give Pasadena its vibrancy and personal flavor,” said David Klug, economic development director for the City of Pasadena. “Shop a little and dine local to discover the special connections and one-of-a-kind treasures found only when you #ShopPasadena.”

“Pasadena is fortunate to have so many wonderful local shops and eateries that make this city a favorite gathering place for celebrations, special events and seasonal holidays,” said Christine McGrath, executive director of Visit Pasadena. “During this joyous season, we encourage visitors and our Pasadena community to support local talented artists and curators. Come experience the authentic local flavor of Pasadena while shopping for gifts and dining out.”

This year, the city is offering free bus service on Pasadena Transit on Friday, November 24 and Saturday, November 25 to encourage local shopping and dining this holiday season. For more information, including bus schedules, maps and real-time bus arrival information, please visit PasadenaTransit.net.

There are opportunities for local businesses to participate.

The City and Visit Pasadena will expand the reach of business social media posts by sharing all campaign-related messages from businesses on their accounts during the holiday season.

Businesses are invited to participate in the Authentically Yours holiday shopping campaign by participating in Instagram Takeovers on Saturday, November 25. Campaign graphics are available for download.

Businesses have the option to apply a graphic overlay to their own business photos and share them on social media throughout the holiday season. For help applying the graphic overlay, email your photo and request to [email protected].

Businesses can also write a thank you message to the community on a postcard and share it on social media. Postcards will be delivered to any business that requests one. For more, contact [email protected].
