Croatia shines bright at ITB Berlin: Showcase of Excellence in Tourism

The Croatian Tourist Board is currently presenting the Croatian tourism offer at the world’s leading tourism fair ITB Berlin, which takes place from 5 to 7 March. In addition to the Croatian Tourist Board as the main exhibitor, 20 co-exhibitors, including the tourist boards of the counties of Split-Dalmatia, Dubrovnik-Neretva, Lika-Sen and Šibenik-Knin, as well as the cities of Zagreb, Split, and Dubrovnik, present their offers at the Croatian stand .

“Croatia’s presence at one of the most important world tourism exhibitions with a long tradition is an excellent opportunity to further strengthen the position of our country as an attractive and sustainable tourist destination. The interest shown by our partners and visitors, as well as the high demand for travel, are the best reasons for additional optimism and positive expectations in the upcoming tourist season. This year, 70 million trips are expected from the German market, which will last at least five days , so I firmly believe that through this presentation, among other things, we will maintain a competitive position on the German market, from which we still generate the largest tourist traffic,” said Kristijan Stanicic, Director of the Croatian Tourist Board.

He added that this year he expects a continuation of the positive trends in tourism, with special emphasis on the pre-season and post-season, in which Croatian tourism has the greatest potential for further sustainable growth and development.

This prestigious tourism event in Berlin brought together key tourism sector stakeholders from all parts of the world. Representatives of the Croatian Tourist Board held meetings with important partners such as Jet2.com/Jet2holidays, Eurowings and KLM/Air France, discussing business forecasts, expectations and expanding cooperation.

“In the first two months of this year, German tourists in Croatia achieved 6 percent more arrivals compared to the same period last year, when we achieved the best pre-season of Croatian tourism. Demand for Croatia is extremely good and we are particularly pleased that Croatia has been recognized as a desirable destination in the pre-season and post-season periods, which is in line with the strategic objectives of Croatian tourism, i.e. the development of year-round tourism,” said Minister Bernjac, who also participated in the Global Round Table of Tourism Leaders in Berlin, where the topic was the transition of tourism and where she presented Croatia’s activities in this area, with a focus on tourism reform and the Law on tourism.

The national carrier Croatia Airlines was also present at the ITB fair, presenting this year’s summer flight schedule, highlighting that during the tourist season Croatia will be connected to a total of 28 international destinations, and Croatia Airlines aircraft will fly on 50 international routes.
