New Delhi:
Amid speculation surrounding her months of public absence, the Princess of Wales, Catherine, is likely to address her health issues at a public event.
Catherine, who is widely known by her maiden name Kate Middleton, may discuss her recovery during public engagements, Britain’s The Times newspaper reported on Saturday.
“I see a world where the princess can discuss her re-engagement. If he was going to do it, he was going to do it,” a royal source told The Times.
“I would expect that would be her instinct and that would be her decision. They will not be rushed,” the source was quoted as saying by the daily.
Kate and her husband, Prince William, are also expected to follow the annual tradition of posting a new photo celebrating their children’s birthdays. Their youngest, Prince Louis, will turn six on April 23.
Kate Middleton has not been seen since abdominal surgery
Kate Middleton, 42, has not been seen in public since undergoing abdominal surgery in January, fueling speculation about her health.
A January 17 announcement from the Kensington Palace office said the Princess of Wales was admitted to the London Clinic on January 16 for “planned abdominal surgery.”
The operation was a success, it added, and Kate is expected to stay in hospital for 10 to 14 days.
Based on medical advice at the time, the princess was “unlikely to return to public duties until after Easter” on March 31, the palace said
“She hopes the public will understand her desire to maintain as much normalcy as possible for her children and her desire to keep her personal medical information confidential,” the statement added.
The palace said later that the health concerns were not related to cancer.
Kensington Palace shares ‘altered’ photo of Kate Middleton
In an effort to dispel rumors surrounding her health, Kensington Palace shared an official photo of Kate Middleton with her children on March 10.
The photo, taken by William, shows Kate smiling and looking healthy, surrounded by Princes George and Louis and Princess Charlotte.
“Thank you for your kind wishes and continued support over the past two months,” the palace issued a statement on X (formerly Twitter), signed “C” for Catherine. “Happy Mother’s Day everyone.”

The photo attracted huge media attention as it was her first official photo since spending two weeks in hospital following surgery.
However, various leading news agencies said it was an “altered” photo and retracted the image.
Following the social media backlash, Kate Middleton apologized and admitted that she had edited the photo.
“Like many amateur photographers, I experiment with editing from time to time,” issued another statement from the palace, signed by “C”. “I wanted to express my apologies for the confusion the family photo we shared yesterday caused.”
