“Our steam and condensate system has served our community well for many years,” said project manager Ed Sinnott, assistant manager for capital projects at Duke Facilities Management. “Instead of heating domestic city water, which might be around 80 degrees, we take condensate that is already 180 degrees and heat it to 360 degrees. There’s a lot of energy savings.”

The work will be carried out overnight and will take place in several stages, but there will be impacts on traffic, parking and buses and members of the community should expect delays when traveling in the area.
